Romans, Armenians, Syrians; the country's leading merchants and consuls; everyone came to celebrate; decorative ribbons hanging from the ceiling, an orchestra playing Western tunes, and servants swirling crystal glasses filled with liquor. For a moment, she felt lost in all this crowd, not knowing anyone and no-one knowing her. It is as if someone lost their identity and is searching for it. She is no longer Zainab the simple Egyptian girl, the colour of Nile silt. She remains standing in a middle area, the one where it is difficult to step forward or backward, and questions keep coming to you: "Who am I? And what do I want? Who brought me here? Is this where I belong?"

Although she finally got the look she dreamed of, and she gained a lot of language to give her the ability to step into this new world that was coming to her, she did not feel joy or pride, but rather there was something ... missing. Perhaps she herself had lost her soul?
