The author of this novel, Ngan Jones, was born in 1988 in Hai Phong. At the age of 16, the Ngan won a scholarship to study in the UK. After graduating from high school, she was accepted to Cambridge University, studying for a Bachelor of Economics from 2007 to 2010, and a Master of Economic Studies from 2010 to 2011. She currently lives in the UK. This novel draws on the authors own experience.
