Remembering the Twelve / Thương Nhớ Mười Hai (Vietnamese)

Author(s): Vũ Bằng

Adult | New Arrivals

Remembering the Twelve is written in the form of a memoir. The book does not tell of any specific events, or have any particular plot: the content is simply a prose poem; expressing the author's nostalgia - the unspeakable feelings of the expatriate son, longing for his homeland.

Considered as one of the most unique works written about Hanoi, "Remembering the Twelve" has been in print for many years, republished numerous times. This edition by Dong A pairs it with exquisite illustrations by a young talented artist.  Inspired by the Vietnamese silk paintings of the early 20th century , young artist Duy Hung took inspiration from the works of famous painters who too lived away from their country. The twelve artworks he created for this book are a perfect accompaniement to the sentiment of Vu Bang's writing.
