Eighteen plus Two Woodpeckers / ۱۸+۲ دارکوب (Farsi)

Picture Books | New Arrivals

Twenty children leave on a beautiful shore of a sparkling ocean, their village surrounded amidst the lush forest with twenty friendly woodpeckers pecking their way not the tree trunks. Eighteen children can hear, but two cannot because they are hearing impaired. Eighteen children each befriend a woodpecker but two are silent and don't hear woodpeckers' way of communicating. Those two clever woodpeckers recognise the difference find an inventive way of communicating with two hearing impaired children, substituting feathers for sounds and inventing a sign language of sorts. Beautifully written - metaphorical, poetic with fabulous illustrations.
