Picture Books | New Arrivals

The story of a seed that returns to the soil and brings a thousand new seeds to life on the tree that grows from it. It is too a story of the grandmother, leaning on the cane, who in the fall "travels with the swallows" (metaphor for dying), leaving behind the little girl, her mother, and the pomegranate tree that grandma planted in the garden. Only grandma's cane is left behind. Where could she have gone without her cane, wonders the child? She walks and searches everywhere, but grandmother is nowhere to the found. Grandmother who always took the orange light from the sun and sprinkled it on the trees and plants of the house. The grandmother who brought the blue color from the sky to the earth and sprinkled it over the pond so that the red fish could see the world through her eye... The Pomegranate Girl is the story of one who leaves this world but is remembered for a thousand signs of love and a thousand stories she has left behind.
