This story is a retelling of a fable originally written in “Kalila and Demna” (the early Persian translation of Sanskrit Panchatantra - an ancient book with Indian roots).

This book is the creation of the award-winning duo Mohammad Hadi Mohammadi and Amir Shabanipour. The Lion King is the story of a tyrant lion who has taken the forest under his control and  ruled it with anger and violence. The other animals see themselves as victims  and decide that they are not able to rid themselves of the oppressor and surrender offering as the Lion King's prey. This would have been a story about helpless powerless people who let themselves being led into the darkness if it wasn't for one brave rabbit... Whilst everyone else surrendered the rabbit was determined not to give up and fight. In the end, the rabbit manages to trick the Lion who falls into a deep well, never to be seen again. So this ancient fable shows how in the darkness of the age of surrender, there are some who challenge the power. and little by little, throught by thought and action by action they bring about the change and ultimately the freedom.
